This MQ-5 Methane LPG Liquid Propane Gas Sensor Module is widely used in gas leak detection pieces of equipment in the home and industry, and is suitable for detecting LPG, natural gas, town gas, as well as avoiding the noise of alcohol and cooking fumes and cigarette smoke.

The MQ5 (MQ-5) sensor is used in gas leakage detection equipment in consumer and industrial applications. It can detect LPG, natural gas, and coal gas. Avoid alcohol noise, cooking fumes, and cigarette smoke. The potentiometer can be used to adjust the sensitivity.

The MQ-5 gas sensor’s sensitive material is tin Oxide (SnO2), which has a lower conductivity in clean air. When the target combustible gas is present, the sensor’s conductivity increases as the gas concentration rises. Please use a simple electro circuit to convert the change in conductivity to the corresponding gas concentration output signal.

The MQ-5 gas sensor has a high sensitivity to methane, propane, and butane and can detect both methane and propane. The sensor could be used to detect various combustible gases, particularly methane; it is low-cost and suitable for a variety of applications.
